CHARLOTTETOWN - The Island Storm came away with a huge 109-85 win over the Saint John Riptide on Sunday afternoon at the Eastlink Centre.

Franklin Session led the Storm offense in the first quarter, putting up seven points and despite the Storm going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line, the Riptide led 24-19 at the break.

Du’Vaughn Maxwell and Carl Hall helped the Storm lead by as much as 10-points in a back-and-forth second quarter where the lead changed between the Storm and Riptide four times.

Maxwell put up 11-points in the first half while Hall chipped in with 10-points of his own, but the tight game continued with strong Riptide shooting from Malcolm Miller.  Miller’s 13-points in the first two quarters helped the Riptide stay in the game, with the first half finishing in a 48-48 tie.

The Storm didn’t look back in the second half and spread the ball around, getting contributions from everyone on the court.

After outscoring the Riptide by 15-points in the third quarter and 9-points in the fourth quarter the Storm walked away from the final regular season home game of the year with a 109-85 win.

Kemy Osse led the Storm with a team-high 20-points while Maxwell put up 19-points with Session and Hall each contributing 18-points.

The Storm season finishes the season with four games on the road.  Next up they’ll face the Riptide for the final time this season, in Saint John on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m.
