The Island Storm won huge over the Cape Breton Highlanders 129-91 on the back of an Al Stewart triple-double.
The first quarter started slow. Neither team got going offensively until halfway through the quarter when Al Richter converted an and-one and followed it up with a three pointer.
He finished the quarter with eight points and the Storm were up 31-20 headed into the second.
The Storm continued scoring in the second. Tirrell Baines threw down a huge dunk, and the Storm continued to pour it on with back-to-back Akeem Ellis three pointers to make it 47-27 with 8:19 remaining in the half.
From there, they didn’t let up. They scored 42 in the second quarter alone, making three pointers from all over.
They headed into halftime up 73-41. Jahii Carson led the way with 17 points, while Al Stewart contributed with an impressive stat line of 16 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
The third quarter saw the Storm’s dominance continue. They maintained their 30-point lead, and went into the fourth quarter already at 100 points.
The fourth quarter was more of the same. The Storm led by as much as 46 points as they cruised to the win. Al Stewart ended the night with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while Carson added 28 points.
