The Island Storm dropped a back-and-forth game to the first place Halifax Hurricanes 103-99.
The Storm fell into trouble early when the Hurricanes went on an 8-0 run to start the game before Terry Thomas fought through an eye injury to get the Storm on the board.
A three-pointer from Nick Okorie signaled a turnaround for the Storm, who were able to catch up and tie the game before the first quarter ended.
A solid game-effort from Tyrone Watson (26-points), Billy White (22-points) and CJ Washington (20-points) propelled the Hurricanes to finish the back-and-forth first half with a 48-45 halftime lead.
The Storm battled back in the third quarter for their first lead of the game after a steal from Al Stewart who finished the game with 13-points.
Leading 72-69 going into the fourth quarter the Storm and the Hurricanes traded blows in a tug-of-war finish before the Hurricanes plunged the final nail in the coffin and finished with a 103-99 victory.
Despite an eye injury, Terry Thomas finished with a game-high 32-points while Tirrell Baines recorded his 1,000th career NBL point.
