Storm Donates Tickets to all PEI Marathon Participants

Released: October 04, 2016

The Island Storm is thrilled to partner with the PEI Marathon Presented by Scotiabank by rewarding all the marathon participants for their hard work and dedication with flex pass tickets to the Storm’s 2016-2017 season. As PEI’s only professional sports team, the Island Storm encourages all their fans to live a healthy lifestyle, just as their players work daily to improve their physical health by exercising and healthy eating.

The Storm is entering its sixth year of play in the National Basketball League of Canada. They are based at Charlottetown’s Eastlink Centre, a 3,700-seat facility in the downtown core of the city. During the 2015-2016 season, the team broke several records to be proud of. The Storm has visited with more than 12,000 Island youth, averaged more than 2,000 fans per game, and contributed $118,895.00 to local charities, while partnering with 25 local groups and schools.

The PEI Marathon also promotes an active lifestyle and, as the 2016 Marathon Weekend approaches, more and more Islanders can be seen walking or running all over the Island. They will be happy to know the Storm is cheering them on and wishes all participants a successful event. If you want to receive a free Flex Pass ticket to the Storm 2016-2017 season and boost your healthy lifestyle, visit the PEI Marathon Information Booth at the Murphy Community Center Friday, October 14th from 12pm-6pm or Saturday, October 15th from 9am-7pm.
