- Storm Future Pros
In response to one of the worst natural disasters in Canadian history, the Island Storm will donate half of all ticket proceeds to the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfires.
The playoff game takes place this Sunday at 2pm against the Hurricanes at Charlottetown’s Eastlink Centre.
“Almost all Islanders can say they know someone in Fort Mac, or know someone who knows someone. The fire might be thousands of miles away, but it still feels close to home,” said Storm owner Duncan Shaw. “As Canadians, it’s our duty to help.”
By simply purchasing a ticket, 50 per cent will go directly to fire relief and victim support. The Storm will announce the amount raised either during the game or early the following week.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office (46 Kensington Road), by phone (902-629-6625), or online.
The Storm plays its first home game of the playoffs this Sunday at 2pm. The game also falls on Mother’s Day and the team is offering anyone the opportunity to take his or her mother, or any mother at all, to the game free of charge with the purchase of at least one additional ticket.
The box office is open Monday-Friday from 11am-5pm, and opens the day of the game at 11am.
