Sherwood Building Supplies, a locally owned and operated company, has purchased 250 student tickets for the Island Storm’s Easter Monday game.
The tickets will be available to the general public starting Tuesday morning at 11am. Student tickets are valid for anyone under the age of 14.
The retail establishment, located at 423 Mt. Edward Rd, hopes the project will give Island families a fun outing on the last day of March Break.
“We’re all about helping,” said George Young, contractor sales manager. “The Storm games are a lot of fun and kids always seem to enjoy themselves there, hopefully this initiative will save some families a few bucks in the process.”
This will be the team’s first game on the holiday in its five-year history.
“This was uncharted waters for us, but I think we made the right decision playing on Easter Monday. We’re still about a week out from our game and many tickets are already sold,” said the team’s marketing director, Brett Poirier. “I really hope people act quickly because I know these tickets won’t last long.”
The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, March 28th against the Halifax Hurricanes.
Tickets are available at the Eastlink Centre box office; no purchase is necessary. They are limited to two tickets per family.
For anyone who cannot make it to the box office, you can reserve your free tickets by calling (902-629-6625) and making the purchase of at least one additional ticket. The box office regular hours are 11am-5pm during the week, however, all tickets must be picked up by this Thursday as the box office is closed this Friday and all weekend.
