Miracles drop Storm during first-ever Purple Game

The Island Storm fell to the Moncton Miracles 113-103 on Sunday afternoon’s Purple Game.

Dexter Strickland led the way for Moncton with 23 points and five assists while Tom Granado added 18 rebounds.

In the loss Tirrell Baines was a bright spot for the Storm. Contributing 22 points and seven rebounds.

In a first half that saw the Storm struggle from both the field and free throw line, the Strom entered the break only down by seven.

The struggles however continued into the second half as the team only managed to put up seven points in the first five minutes of play in the third.

Making things close in the end, closing the gap down to 10 it was too little too late for the Storm.

In the win Moncton improves to 13-16 while the Island falls to 10-17. Up next for the Strom are the Halifax Hurricanes in an Easter Monday affair. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
