O’Connor Glass, a locally owned and operated company, has purchased 500 student tickets for the Storm’s Islander Day game.
“As a family run business we want to be involved with the community whenever we can,” said the company’s co-owner John O’Connor.
The tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday morning at 11am.
Student tickets are valid for anyone under the age of 18.
O’Connor Glass hopes the initiative will encourage kids to get involved with sport.
“We’re all about getting kids physically active. We want to promote healthy athletic lifestyles.”
An annual tradition for the Storm, the Islander Day game has averaged large crowds and promises for another big turnout.
“This is one game we really want to pack the arena for,” said Storm owner Duncan Shaw. “John and all of the staff at O’Connor Glass have been so supportive of the team and the community. This partnership will benefit everyone.”
The Islander Day game will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, and will see for the first time this season, the Orangeville A’s in town.
The tickets are only available at the box office. No purchase is necessary.
They are limited to two tickets per family.
